Vintage Advertisement- Wool Raincoat

Here is today's image. It is slightly inspired by waking up this morning with dark cloudy skies outside and the hope of rain. Doesn't look like it's going to happen however- the clouds are already dissipating.

Vintage Advertisements- Hosiery

I seem to be on an advertising kick this week. Here is an ad from 1923 for hosiery.

Vintage Hairstyles

Some vintage hairstyles from the late 1800's. The one on the left is quite pretty and I would love to try it. The one on the right however has way too much going on and the girl looks quite mad about it. She's probably wishing she had the one on the left.

Vintage Illustration- Someone Got a New Toy

Looks like someone got a new bike... and the rest of them look jealous! What a funny way to depict the new fall fashions of 1869. -Sarah

Vintage Clip Art- Vintage Shoes

I love this page taken from my very old Sears Roebuck catalog. Not only are the shoes fabulous but the flapper women and the page colors are awesome. Who could pass up shoes for less than $5! Have a great weekend! -Sarah

Vintage Clip Art- Vintage Coats

I adore vintage coats and jackets and I'm not quite sure why- I am living in the completely wrong state (Arizona) for winter wear. Anyway, these coats are from a 1917 catalog. I love the colors and patterns. And their hats are also quite fabulous!

Vintage Clip Art- Vintage Shoe Woes

I seem to be on a fashion and beauty kick this week. Here is a page from a personal hygiene and home nursing book. I like how not only the French heel causes foot distortions, backaches, and headaches, but "nervousness" too. Well if my feet became disfigured due to my shoes, I would be "nervous" too.

Vintage Clip Art- Victorian Fashion

I chose this image for not only her fabulous dress but for her fantastic facial expression. It says, "don't mess with me with this weapon in my hands." -Sarah

Vintage Clip Art- Vintage Dress

OMG! I totally forgot to list an image this morning! Yesterday my boyfriend and I spent the day out at estate sales to pick up stuff for my vintage store. We had a lot of success and I found so many cute things. I woke up this morning so excited to wash, clean, and fix the items to sell that I forgot to list a vintage image! Anyway, here is an awesome vintage dress that I wish I could find at an estate sale.
By the way, the suggested dictionary images will be up next week! Have a great weekend! -Sarah

Happy Easter!

Every year my mother asks me a few days before Easter if I am going to wear an Easter bonnet over to her house. She thinks this is super funny but it only reminds me of the many painful Easters I spent as a child in frilly dresses and curled hair. (I like dresses but not the frilly kind and my hair is super straight, rebellious to any kind of curling.) I always reply with rolling eyes, "no, of course I'm not going to wear a bonnet. Do I ever wear a bonnet?"
I recently saw these hats in my 1920's Sears catalog and thought to myself, well I wouldn't mind wearing these as my bonnet! How cute!
Have a great Easter holiday! -Sarah
