Loving Thoughts - Free Child Image

Well I'm back! I completely forgot I still had this blog! I recently went to my local Goodwill and they were selling some very old vintage photographs (which I will share in the near future) and remembered that I own The Vintage Moth! I logged in to discover that this site is still getting 10,000 views a month even though I hadn't looked at it in over 8 years.  I still have in my possession a ton of vintage images that I will be posting on this site so I hope that you will come back regularly to see them!

Here is one from my vintage Valentine collection of a little girl holding a stuffed bear. I have posted two versions- one with and one without the lettering. Enjoy!

Antique Advertising Card

I'm baaack......
Yep, I had to take a little hiatus from the blog due to well, no time. I accepted a full time temp job for a little extra money and it was really overwhelming, especially with having my felt business on Etsy as well to work on. At the same time, my boyfriend also started his full time job as a manager working 70 hours a week. So let's just say that the house is now a disaster especially since our two cats didn't want to pitch in to help. But I am quite grateful that the gig is now over and everything can get back to normal. I plan to keep this blog going again so more images will be coming your way!
Thanks for hanging in there, waiting patiently for me to be able to get back to blogging. I will be changing a few items here on the blog in the next few days so if you get any errors, it's probably because I'm trying some new stuff out. : ) -Sarah

Vintage Advertisement- Hair Tonic

Have you all been watching Downton Abbey? I'm a little behind the trend and just discovered it on Monday. I watched the first episode of the first season and was hooked. The clothing and music and lighting are all so beautiful. I'm only up to the third episode so far as I have been savoring them for when I get my work done so don't give any hints about what is to happen!

Vintage Advertisement- Lawn Tennis

I'm so excited! I decided last minute this weekend to sign up for tennis lessons at a local community college. I took lessons as a child but haven't played in about 15 years. Hopefully I'm not too rusty! I thought this vintage advertisement from my Delineator was appropriate.

Free Vintage Victorian Advertisement- Dental Care

Such a pretty winter scene. But I'm not sure what snow covered trees have to do with dental care.

Free Vintage Victorian Trade Card- Bird and Boose

What a strange moment in time to capture. Nothing like seeing a discarded booze bottle floating by in a pretty tropical environment.

Vintage Advertisements- Mystery Cake

This image was taken from an old advertisement for a baking contest. My favorite cake is the white one with the sprinkles in the batter. What cake is your favorite?

Vintage Advertisement- Who wears short shorts?

I just love strange old advertisements! This one is to get rid of unwanted hair. By the description, it sounds like a product similar to Nair.

Vintage Advertisements- Good Manners

Where have all the good manners gone? Sometimes I feel we have lost that as a society. I love when people say "thank you" and "your welcome." I love when people hold the door open for me so I in turn do the same. I am tired of women wearing too short shorts and showing off their cleavage and looking cheap. I love watching "19 Kids and Counting" and seeing the kids all very respectful and willing to help out and learn.
Does this make me old at the ripe old age of 32? What do you think? -Sarah

Vintage Advertisement- I've Got Pain

I love this old advertisement of Bayer Aspirin. If you read closely, it says that it has been prescribed by physicians for over 23 years! -Sarah

Vintage Clip Art- Vintage Beauty Products

I had to post this to you when I found this in my old Delinator magazine from 1894. Even if this did work for removing imperfections, I can only imagine that my boyfriend would FREAK OUT if he saw me with this on in the middle of the night.
Would you wear this to bed three times a week to stay looking young?

Victorian Valentine's Clipart Images

This Victorian Advertisement for The Ladies' Home Journal from 1891 is one of my most favorite finds this year! I scanned it from an 1891 newspaper. (I don't recall now which one.. I have dozens..)

I just had to pull this lovely lady out of the ad for you.. she is gorgeous! Perfect for Valentine's art projects or perhaps for wedding pieces now that the season of weddings is almost upon us!

Please remember to play nice.. no adding these images to CD's for resale or selling them the way they are. I work hard to provide them free for you and would like them to remain free for others as well. Feel free to use them in your art and craft and sell your wares!
